The most important thing for getting your body ready to conceive is, of course, related to its health. Infertility may be caused by many factors, but it can also be the result of an unhealthy lifestyle, and consequently, of a generally bad condition. Go to the doctor, check for untreated diseases and infections. Needless to say that tobacco, recreational drugs and alcohol do not work well with pregnancy and should be avoided not only by you, but also by your partner.
Another important aspect to insist upon is a varied diet, in order to obtain the right balance of nutrients. This diet should include: fresh fruits, dark green leafy vegetables, legumes, nuts, grains, dairy products and hormone-free meat. Omega 3 fatty acids will also boost your fertility. Avoid coffee, or at least drink less of it. Foods to be avoided include: high-mercury fish, smoked or raw meat, processed meat in large amounts.
Vitamins and minerals increase the chances of conceiving. Folic acid is good not only during pregnancy, but, also, before conceiving. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that is considered to protect the eggs’ development.
Having the right body weight is very important for achieving pregnancy. Obesity can be an obstacle, and overweight women, even if they do manage to get pregnant, are prone to complications. If you are overweight, do not attempt to lose weight drastically, but, gradually, in a safe manner that will still provide you with the needed nutrients. Exercise is good, but do not exaggerate with it either.
Stress is another factor that can influence your chances of getting pregnant. It can lead to irregular menstrual cycles and even interrupt ovulation cycles. For the miracle to happen, both of you must relax and remember to enjoy the act of love, not only perform it mechanically for the sake of conceiving.
Conceiving does not only depend on women. Men should also take care of their health, stop bad habits, exercise moderately and manage their stress level. They should also avoid hot temperatures in the genital area, as they may lead to testicular dysfunction.
Now you have a few very effective tips on how to conceive. Keep them in mind and remember to always stay optimistic, as this is the way to succeed.
